Garafía, Starlight Reserve
Garafía is located in the northwest of La Palma, one of the most unspoilt and authentic areas of the Canary Islands. It is a municipality within the Biosphere Reserve and a certified Starlight Reserve territory, where light pollution is practically non-existent.
The municipality is home to famous centenary dragon trees, the laurel forest of Los Tilos, and is just a few kilometres from the Roque de los Muchachos (2,426 m), where one of the world's most important astrophysical observatories is located.
Garafía is a paradise for hiking, with trails that cross ravines, pine forests and laurel woods. An ideal destination for those seeking tranquillity, nature and starry skies.
A house with history
Casa María Presentación is a centenary volcanic stone house located in El Castillo, Garafía. With over 100 years of history, it has passed through several generations of the same family, preserving its essence and original character.
Its thick volcanic stone walls, wooden beams and traditional fireplace create a warm and authentic atmosphere. The house features a garden, a terrace with sea views and is surrounded by the lush vegetation of Garafía.
